This book is split into 15 chapters, each presenting lessons for the reader to work through. As a companion to the text, it also comes with a DVD filled with exercise files and video tutorials. As a “Flash” instructor I am always seeking new and exciting ways to enthuse and engage new students. I was not disappointed!

The first chapter takes the reader through all the new features in Flash CS 3 . The improved drawing tools, copy and paste motions, actionScript 3.0, and my favorite feature, Illustrator and Photoshop import options are discussed.

In depth lessons, from beginning to end, bring the new user of Flash along very smoothly, covering the very basics to more advance techniques such as drawing shapes to introducing movie clips this book addresses all that a Flash user needs to get under way and start creating dynamic flash content.

Using the DVD tutorials is an extra bonus to this manual. Actually watching the techniques being performed will make even the newest user of Flash feel at ease in using this robust application. The text is also very easy to understand and read. The authors give excellent real world examples providing a good base to begin learning Flash.
