You may be asking why should I pay the 30$ member fee. There is more than one reason.
Paid member benefits
- Consistent and regular attendance will place you in a bi-yearly drawing for an Adobe Suite (except the Master or Technical) of your choice-That's a nearly $1,600 benefit. Our drawing for 2010 will be held in May and November.
- Monthly software drawings of third party products-We give away tons (well.. not really tons, because I don't really know how much 27-700 megabytes weighs) of software every meeting. Much of the software costs between $50-$500 per title. All you have to do is write a review of the software.
- Free books-We are strongly supported by Focal press, Wiley, Peachpit, O'Reilly and other publishing companies. Every month I try to bring in titles that will help you improve in your trade. Most of the time the price of these books exceeds $40. Take one book and write a review, and you have already made your money back.
- Free pizza-Digieffects software has graciously offered to buy pizza for our group. Now, who doesnt think their money wouldn't be well spent. Remember, I said FREE pizza. The only thing better than free pizza is, well nevermind.
- 20% or more discount on Lynda.com training yearly subscriptions. For the Premium membership that is a $75 savings.
- Awesome tutorials that are priceless performed by highly experienced professionals. Each month we do demos that stress and illustrate time saving techniques within the software you know and love. Remember time is money.
- Umm, did i mention free pizza?
- We have 10 meetings a year, which equates to 3 dollars a meeting. So, if you look at it that way, its not much different than buying a raffle ticket once a month.
- Your membership tickets do not expire. When you become a member, I give you a sheet with 10 tickets. Each meeting you will turn in a ticket. That means if you only come once a year, you can be a paid member for 10 years. :) However, this would not make you eligible for the software drawings.
- Paid membership provides you wilth more access on this website for you to create blogs and participate in forum discussions.
- You can also get up to 40% discounts on books and software from many of our sponsors.
Well, I am going to stop there because 10 is a nice number. And, its also alot. So that is about 3 dollars a benefit. Anyhow, I will say this, If you pay for your membership and at the end of the year you havent gotten your moneys worth, then you just aren't trying.
Good luck! Take care!
