Wow! That’s all I can say. For those of us who are not ActionScript gurus this program is awesome. For those who are action script gurus this program is still awesome and a time saver.

I have been an avid user of Photoshop for several years. However, due to all of the wonderful features, options and techniques, I have never been able to master it. I’ve tried to get my wife to try Photoshop, but she feels it too complex and that she’s not a “computer” person. So, I figured it was time I reviewed Photoshop Elements 6 (PE6) to see if this was a program she could handle.
I installed PE6 from the bundle package that comes with Premiere Elements 4.
It is no wonder that SoThink’s DHTML Menu 8 is one of the most popular on the web. It truly has an extensively great set of interactive dropdown and rollover menus. It’s GUI is stylish and simple to understand and helps you to create cross browser compatibility in just a few clicks. One thing I really like is the templates included with this software. They did a good job at establishing menus with a demure color scheme which you can find to match just about any website. This is a real timesaver.
SWF Decompiler is one of those handy little tools that every web and Flash developer needs in their “toolbox”. I've used this tool for about 3 years and SourceTec continues to make it better and better with every release. As a designer or developer, we often come across webpages with SWFs that are cool, new or interesting. While we do not desire to copy someone else's work, it is extremely helpful to take a peek inside to see how the person pulled off a certain effect. It just adds to our own knowledge.
Chameleon Software by AKVIS is a digital collaging product that works as a plugin through photo editors like Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and Corel PhotoPaint, Ulead Photo Impact and such. It is touted as an “efficient tool for photo collage creation.” It certainly is all that. It was hard to break away long enough to write this review.
I have been an avid fan on Audition, even before it was Audition. In a previous life, this program was called Cool Edit Pro. Recently, I reviewed a copy of SoundBooth, so naturally I wanted to see what its “big brother” has to offer.
First of all, let’s take a look at the comparison of the two programs from Adobe’s website:
Sometimes, I review products which achieve their intended purpose, and my review stands as a simple testimonial to the functionality of the program, or the inclusiveness of a book. Other times, my review process leaves me excited and wide-eyed, and I’m left utterly amazed at what I can now do or what I have learned from the process. AlphaPhotoFX plug-ins bundle for Photoshop by Alpha Plugins (www.alphaplugins.com) is both the former and the latter.
Generally, video is something that I do not deal with. My PC is a little under powered when it comes to serious rendering. However, with After Effects CS3, I make an exception.
With Apple Inc. moving to the Intel chipset, After Effects needed an upgrade. Adobe has responded and released After Effects CS3, which has architecture to run on the Intel chipsets. One of the first things I noticed was the time to load After Effects has been significantly reduced with this new version. Along with this enhancement it appears Adobe has listened to user feedback and improved many of the previous problems.
I really enjoy using Adobe's Flash. However, for me some things are just easier to do in After Effects and import into Flash. I was pleased to be able to review a copy of Adobe After Effects 7.0 Standard. I was really impressed with the 6.0 version and couldn't wait to see what Adobe came up with next.
