Yes, I am a child of the video revolution. I grew up a fan of black & white cartoons on Saturday mornings. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Speedy Gonzales, Foghorn Leghorn, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, and the list goes on. I was also introduced to science fiction at an early age. The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and of course Star Trek were regular staples of my TV viewing agenda. All of which set the stage for me to become the animation and special effects movie junkie that I am today.

As a long time flash user it took me a while to get up to speed on having to relearn how Flash user ActionScript 3.0 for some previously simple functions such as button reactions and other methods in flash.

The book does a very good job providing examples for people new to ActionScript 3.0. As a designer I felt it did a great job getting me into figuring out how to write the new code required for things that used to be fairly easy, but now have changed a great deal.

Highly recommended for designers trying to 'get the job done'.

This book is split into 15 chapters, each presenting lessons for the reader to work through. As a companion to the text, it also comes with a DVD filled with exercise files and video tutorials. As a “Flash” instructor I am always seeking new and exciting ways to enthuse and engage new students. I was not disappointed!
