261 To borrow (OK, steal) the name of a recent Jerry Lee Lewis compilation, this book should be subtitled "All Killer, No Filler!". I tried (within reason, I don't have all day to geek out on Photoshop tips), but really couldn't find any useless tips offered from the Master (Scott Kelby). If there are some, they probably originated with Felix Nelson, Kelby's co-author, since Kelby can do no wrong (Scott, was that enough to cinch my free lifetime NAPP membership?). |

265 I admit it. I'd rather read a really good "How To" book than the latest "Whatever Code" adventure. And for me, this title did not disappoint. Early into the attractive and logically designed pages I would have enthusiastically given out 5 stars. Unfortunately I had to pull back from that a little for a couple of reasons I will go into later. Still, for content and readability I would not hesitate to recommend this book. |

276 headaches, getting a handle on the development process is essential. As technology columnist Jim Heid is quoted in the first chapter of this book, “Designers are utterly starved for guidance on workflow.” “Web Redesign 2.0” is just the guidance they need. And it’s not only for designers. Site producers, webmasters, and owners (and ultimately users) all benefit when there is a clear plan that gets the job done more efficiently and effectively. |

544 I had heard of Lynda before and seen her website, but I had not read any of her books before this one. I was very impressed with the low level of detail and lack of too much jargon in this book. It was short and to the point. The book was an easy and quick read due to her design. The book is good for basic reference information on web design. It touches on almost everything you encounter when designing websites. I was able to touch on the important topics and was given the right amount of theory/background necessary to understand the concepts. |
