Photoshop Tutorial Rap part II

So a while back, I posted about a Photoshop Tutorial Rap - which was both entertaining AND educational.

Well, the good folks at college humor have made a sequel. Check it out here...

Adobe CS5.5 & Cinema 4D Party

Photos from our big Adobe CS5.5 Raffle meeting (which also featured a very special Cinema 4D presentation) have been posted to our Facebook group page.

Art from Tonight's Meeting

Tonight's meeting not only showed some unique Photoshop filter effects but also helped me create the latest piece in my graphic design portfolio.

Best part? Our little "model" was Joe's son Calvin, who I might have to nominate for the award of "Cutest Baby Ever."

Great meetup tonight, Joe! Thanks for the PS CS5 tips!

Nature Photographer Magazine

My friend George was published in the latest issue of Nature Photography Magazine (Spring 2011 - on page #64)

Those of you who are into photography might appreciate the beautiful images and tips & tricks in this magazine - and you may also want to consider submitting your own photos (if you haven't already). Who knows - maybe YOU will be the next friend of mine who graces its pages, or even its cover ;o)

Hope to see you all at tomorrow's meetup,

Brittany

Adobe Photoshop and Apps for iPad

Adobe is launching Photoshop Touch SDK for iPad and has also added three companion products to the Apple App Store. The new "companion" apps are:

Adobe Color Lava for Photoshop- mix colors using your fingertips, create color swatches and themes that can be transferred into Photoshop or shared with friends directly from the app.

Adobe Eazel for Photoshop - control Photoshop tools on the iPad through a customizable toolbar as well as browse through open Photoshop files and create new ones

Adobe Nav for Photoshop - create realistic paintings with your fingertips, then either transfer via Wi-Fi back to Photoshop or share with your friends

Very cool! These apps range in price from the very affordable $1.99 to $4.99

Photoshop Tutorial Rap

Given the context of what we typically discuss during our meetings, I figured some of you might like this Photoshop Tutorial Rap video. The odd thing is, there are actually some useful tips here, too, in addition to being just plain funny.

It's made by College Humor, so yes, there is SOME inappropriate language. So if you are easily offended, hate YouTube videos or rap music, or have zero sense of humor, this is probably not for you.

Luckily, I don't think ANY of you fall into the above category - so enjoy!

Video from CS5 Raffle

With the Novemer raffle coming up I figured I'd share a video from our last Adobe CS5 raffle. In May, we had not only a raffle, but a very special Adobe CS5 launch party celebrating the new release along with a guest presentation, demonstration and several raffles for another sponsor: Wacom. A representative was on-site doing product demonstrations and providing education along with raffling off several FREE tablets. Head over to our Facebook page to view one very special demonstration:

DMAG + WACOM + CS5... What's in it for YOU?!

The answer: a LOT!
Here are a few reasons why you should attend our biggest meeting ever...

DMAG featured in NAMI newsletter!

Lexington's chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness has featured DMAG in their recent weekly newsletter. Although they made a typo in the name, they did include a link to our website - and provided free promotion for our group among all of their Central Kentucky members.

If you're interested in learning more about NAMI Lex you can visit their site at http://www.namilex.org

(Thanks to DMAGer GG Burns for sharing this information with us!)
