This is without a doubt one of the finest plug-ins that I have ever dealt with. This opinion boils down to three reasons.
- Ease of use. Sure, the whole idea of plug-in filters is that they speed up your workflow. But Alien Skin does this and more with intuitive dialog boxes and a wealth of on the fly preview selections. With most of the filter settings that they supply here you have little or nothing to do after application. I personally would be bald trying to get the effects that you see in the photographs below.
- Bang for your buck. Loads of Factory settings for both Color and Black and white filtering. You can also tweak your settings for color, tone focus and grain. All with very easy to use menus and sliders and a live preview pane.
- Insane results. I am not a photographer, nor would I say that I am any kind of guru at Photoshop. But, using Exposure 2 on the pictures below I have to say that it helped me look like a little of both.
All in all, this is one fine plug-in and a super addition to Photoshop. This would be a phenomenal tool for a professional photographer to keep in their arsenal. After a long photo shoot I could imagine some very happy clients being rather amazed at seeing a portfolio that exhibited exceptional variety and “touch” in such a short time.
If you would like to see more about Exposure 2 check out the www.d-mag.org website and look in the Navigation bar for the Alien Skin pages that are coming soon.
The pictures in the table below have had filters applied by Exposure 2. The bland hazy ones on the right are the unedited versions.

This is a great example of how Exposure 2 plus another great product from Alien Skin Xenofex 2 helped turn a beautiful but hazy day at the beach into a beautiful day in paradise.

I love the contrast of the water in this picture and how Exposure 2 just helped it explode in color.
