What is DMAG? (Digital Media Artists Group)

The purpose of DMAG is to provide a source of information and sense of community for people in the Lexington and surrounding Central Kentucky areas who are using Adobe, Macromedia, Microsoft and other products to develop sites and animation for the Web.

Some benefits of membership include:

  • Free software, books, shirts, hats, underwear (just kidding) etc.
  • Lots of good knowledge

Long story short, we give away something at almost every meeting.

The DMAG mission

  • Promote the use of Adobe and other digital media software products
  • Discuss topics pertaining to production of digital media
  • Provide a networking venue for digital artists
  • Meet and learn from other digital artists in this area
  • Provide a group of local experts as a resource
  • Provide Community Service back to our area in Not For Profit work
  • Get free stuff

What do we do at our meetings?

We normally do one or two hands-on demonstrations of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, and Illustrator, or really anything in the Adobe Suite. We exchange ideas and info and if we have them, business cards. Did I mention that we give away free stuff? Really, any topic relating to the production, methodology, business, or lifestyle of digital media is fair game. Professionals and amateurs are welcome.

Our membership includes (but is not limited to): graphic artists, printers (not the kind on your desk), photographers, musicians, videographers, web developers, web designers, small business persons (not the ones that are height challenged, although they are welcome too), corporate members (not really sure who these guys are but they are welcome also) and others.

When?

Meetings are at 6:45pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
